From conferences and live training to reading and research, there are plenty of ways to expand your professional knowledge. At Rivetica, we love to sharpen our skills by listening to great podcasts.

Not only are podcasts an excellent way to stay on top of the latest things going on, but they’ll also often broaden your horizons in ways you never would have imagined.

If you haven’t started exploring the world of podcasts yet, you’re missing out! Even if you have, there’s a good chance that some of the best ones haven’t landed on your radar yet.

As of June 2019, there are over 750,000 different podcasts and over 30 million podcast episodes. It’s possible to find a podcast covering just about every topic under the sun. While this creates awesome opportunities for learning and growing, it also causes a dilemma. It would take you months to sort through them all to find the best ones, and who’s got time for that?

To help you out, we’ve decided to share some of our favorites with you. Check it out!

1. eMarketer’s Behind the Numbers

Behind the Numbers is a daily podcast that discusses how marketing and digital media are transforming both the business world and life in general. It’s powered by one of the world’s most powerful sources — eMarketer. This company is well known as “the most comprehensive source for information on doing business in the digital world.”

The Behind the Numbers podcasts are a great way to stay up-to-date on the rapidly changing digital marketing world. Best of all, they provide information in a way that’s entertaining and never boring.

What Our Team Members Had to Say:

We love hearing the analysts’ take on the week’s digital marketing news and trend reports. The statistics are always really interesting, and since the episodes are very short, it doesn’t take a huge time commitment to keep up with all the latest and greatest information.

2. ConnectEDU Network

ConnectEDU Network hosts a variety of podcast shows that combine expert insight and unique perspectives to cover all aspects of the higher education world. It caters to professors, marketing professionals and everything in between. Their current show lineup includes:

  • The Higher Ed Geek – explores the lives of higher ed professionals and the topics they “geek out” about
  • Higher Ed Social – takes a deep dive into the lives and careers of the people who work within the University system
  • Josie and the Podcast – covers the link between tech, social media, and leadership
  • EduPunx Podcast – discusses the world of education, social justice, and politics with everyday people

3. Reply All

Billed as “a podcast about the internet,” Reply All is actually so much more than that. This amazingly interesting and original show is truly an exploration of modern life, technology, and the challenge of being human. They cover stories you aren’t likely to hear about anywhere else in a way that is narrative and compelling. Want to learn more about what Reply All is all about?
